Samsung To Release Ultrawide QLED Monitor With Thunderbolt 3
“Samsung unveils first Thunderbolt 3 QLED curved monitor at CES 2018”
Samsung has unveiled their first curved monitor to feature Intel’s Thunderbolt 3 connection. This monitor features a 34″ 3440×1440 QLED display. Designed for business and entertainment, this display also features a 1500r curvature, a 178-degree viewing angle, and reflects color across 125 percent of the sRGB spectrum.
Samsung has not mentioned any sort of HDR support but they do mention colors and deeper blacks. While there is no confirmation of support yet I wouldn’t be surprised to find out its HDR certification level soon as most, if not all, QLED televisions are HDR.
The Thunderbolt 3 port will support charging at up to 85W of charging power which, while not enough for a gaming laptop, will be plenty for something like a Razer blade stealth or MacBook. This means you will be able to output an image and charge your laptop with a single cable.
Samsung should be releasing more information about the CJ791 QLED during CES but they have not confirmed a date yet. CES takes place from January 9-12, 2018.
